Sunday post 26; it's Monday,what are you reading? 14

Ah, good blogging intentions. Something, something paved roads.

Anyway. The Sunday Post is a chance for a chat and a catch-up with other bloggers, and is hosted by Kimba, here: While the It's Monday! meme is now hosted by Kathryn and you can find that over here:

So I had my first week back at work last week, and if I were the sort to get a swelled head, I would have by the number of people who seemed to be happy to see me. It was a pretty good first week, but I proceed with caution because the shit can always hit the fan.

I've been tired all week because I'm not used to working anymore but hopefully that will pass. The sad/funny thing is, where I sit now (which is not where I was before) is in an office with four desks and I'm the only one working in there. It's not too bad but it's very different to what I had before.

Anyway. What else. Noooooooooot very much. I didn't work Friday, and I have Monday off as well, which is actually kind of a nice way to ease back into it all.  Spawn is actually off until Wednesday, but that's also fine.

I haven't been doing a lot of reading. Bits and pieces of Perdido Street Station at lunchtime at work, as it's an ebook, and I'm finally digging properly into The Drawing of the Three, which is great, so far. I also picked up The Girl With all the Gifts a while back as an ebook, so I've started that but I'm not very far in.

I'm chipping away at my cross-stitch as well, albiet verrrrrrrrrrrry slowwwwwwwwwwwwly. That's. That's it - lol.

If I blog this week, and I'd like to, I'm going to do a couple of review posts - one on Spy with Melissa McCarthy (which was GREAT, I LOVED it) and a short reviews post for uh ... Strong Signal,  Rotten Beast, Scrap Metal and issue #4 of Dragon Age: Magekiller. I'm hoping, anyway.

How's your week been/looking?
What are you reading?

  1. It's always tough to have life stuff change, so I hope the return to work goes well. I'm still trying to finish my Christmas cross-stitch, sometimes it goes so fast and other times it seems like I have gotten nothing finished. Have a great week. :) My Weekly Wrap-Up

  2. Glad your back to work started well, that can always be tough. Enjoy the long weekend, and hope you get lots of reading time. My reading has slowed lately too, i need to get on that. :)

    Glad your reads were good.

  3. Going back to work is always tiring! But least there's a bank holiday this week! Happy Easter! Have a great week and happy reading!

  4. That sounds pretty good - getting back to work but then you get a long weekend? Totally understand being tired though. It's rough getting back to it.
I'll keep an eye out in case you have the time for those review posts!
I'm reading way too many things at the moment but all in all that's actually made it kind of a nice week :)

  5. Getting back to work is a shock to the system, I know I went from being a housewife to 40 hours a week, I am still trying to catch up on sleep!!

I read the Girl with all the Gifts and it is a little scary but it is also just amazing, I loved it!

    Have a good week!

  6. Isn't it nice when you know other people appreciate you? I love it. The last year I worked at IBM I was the only person on my entire aisle, and there were maybe 20 people who worked on our entire floor that typically serviced 200+ people. It was very lonely. Make those desks your own! Happy Easter!

  7. Happy to hear your return to work was received so well. I'm reading a book right now that reminds me of the emptiness of your workspace. A Swedish woman moves to the US and stays in a town that's rapidly declining in population. She hopes to bring it back to life. Maybe her ideas could work at your company. The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend.

  8. I had Friday off as we celebrate Good Friday, how I wish I had today off too. Enjoy the week.

  9. I hope you are enjoying being back at work. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  10. Enjoy the long weekend. Glad your return to work went well. Have a great week.

  11. I am glad you had a good first week back at work. I envy you the long weekend, but I imagine it will make things easier as you get back into the swing of things. I hope you do blog this week. I don't think I will be doing so. I think I could use the week off to play catch up and maybe write those two reviews I keep putting off.

I hope you have a great week!

  12. Spy! I really want to see it and I feel like I am the last person in the world who still hasn't.
